Electrocautery, also known as electrocauterization or simply cautery, uses high-frequency electric current to cut, coagulate, or remove tissue. Electrocautery tips, also referred to as electrodes, come in various shapes and designs. WPI's offers five of these electrodes individually or a variety package with seven electrocautery electrodes. The kit includes a ball electrode, three sizes of wire electrodes, two circular electrodes and one diamond electrode. These electrodes are designed for use with WPI's 501274 Electrosurgery Unit

Using a WPI brain matrix, you can get thin and uniform brain slices, which is crucial for histological analysis, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology, and more. This consistency is essential for accurate comparisons between different brains and experimental conditions. These WPI rodent brain matrices are made of stainless steel, a durable material. They have precision-cut channels or slots that hold the brain in place during slicing. Choose your brain matrix based on your species (mouse or rat) and the size of the animal. The WPI brain matrices are designed for sagittal or coronal slices. These brain matrices give you consistent slices that are 1 mm thick, and the olfactory spinal notch is cut into every brain matrix. World Precision Instrument Mouse and Neonatal Rat Adaptor
For use with the 505211 WPI Rat Stereotaxic Instruments and other Stereotaxic Instruments
Model organisms with soft skulls, such as the mouse and the neonatal rat, are difficult to secure firmly in a traditional stereotaxic instrument. The stainless steel ear bars used for adult rats are too heavy to provide a secure hold without compressing the sides of the skull inward (which closes the airways and impedes blood fl ow). Further, the neonatal rat pup has no external opening of the auditory canal into which to insert the ear bars.

Swiss Tweezers with replaceable carbon fiber tips are great for applications requiring non-metalic, non-marring material is required to prevent damage to delicate or sensitive surfaces. The carbon fiber plastic tips offer a combination of precision and gentleness. These are great for handling electronics components that are sensitive to static electricity, because they are non-conductive. The tips on WPI Swiss Tweezers are pointed. The Dog/Monkey Adaptor is available only for the Large Animal Stereotaxic, 4 Manipulator Arms (505326). To fit any size dog, it should be used with 505341 and 505342 stereotaxic instruments, which have two sets of ear bar holders at different spacings from the front, to accommodate a wide size range of dogs.
